Trusted Buybacks & Coupon Terms

Effective date: September 18, 2026

These terms explain Trusted Buybacks, the program where Trusted Rips LLC (“Trusted Rips,” “we,” or “us”) may offer to buy back a card you won in one of our breaks, and the Whatnot coupon codes we issue as part of it. They are part of our Terms of Service. When you accept a buyback offer you are agreeing to these terms.

The short version. Win a card, and we may offer to buy it back. You get 24 hours to pick cash (90% of the card’s value, less a 1% processing fee), Whatnot coupons (100% of value, no fee), a mix of the two, or simply have the card shipped. Say nothing and the card ships. Values are estimates based on the card’s last recorded sale. Once we approve your choice it is final. Cash requires a one-time identity check and you must be 18 or older.

1. Who can use Trusted Buybacks

  • You must have won the card in a Trusted Rips break or purchase on Whatnot, and the card must still be with us (a buyback is offered before the card ships, not after you receive it).
  • You must have a Trusted Rips account with your Whatnot username linked, so we can match the card to you. See the Terms of Service for account rules.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to claim a buyback or receive a payout or coupon. Anyone 13 to 17 may hold an account and track their collection, but a card won by a minor will be shipped rather than bought back.
  • Cash payouts additionally require a completed identity verification (section 10) and payout details saved on your account.

Trusted Buybacks is offered at our discretion. We are not obliged to make an offer on any particular card, and not every card will receive one. There is no minimum card value for an offer.

2. How an offer works

After a break, we catalog each card and, where we choose to, attach a buyback offer to it. You will see the offer in the My Rips area of your account and we will email the address on your account. The offer shows the card, the value we recorded for it, the cash amount, the coupon amount, and the deadline.

You respond by choosing one option on the offer page and submitting it. Every request is then reviewed by a member of our staff. Nothing is paid, coded, or shipped until a person at Trusted Rips approves it. We aim to review within two business days.

3. The 24-hour window and automatic shipping

You have 24 hours from the time the offer is made to submit your choice. The exact deadline is shown on the offer. If we do not receive a choice by then, the offer expires and the card is shipped to you automatically to the shipping address Whatnot has on file for your order, with your next Whatnot shipment. Whatnot requires sellers to ship promptly, which is why the window is short and why we cannot extend it.

An expired offer cannot be reopened. If you still want to sell the card to us after it has shipped, you can message us on Whatnot, but any later sale would be a separate arrangement and not covered by the original offer.

4. How the card’s value is set

The value on your offer is the last recorded sale for that card (same player, set, parallel, grader, and grade) that we found when we cataloged it. It is frozen at that moment and printed on the offer. The cash and coupon amounts are calculated from it.

That number is an estimate, not an appraisal. Comparable sales can be days or weeks old, may come from a single transaction, and may not reflect what your specific card would sell for today. The market can move between cataloging and your decision, in either direction, and the offer will not be changed to follow it. If you believe the value is materially wrong (for example, the wrong card or grade was matched), tell us before the deadline and we will check it; if we agree, we will correct the offer and restart your window.

5. Cash option

  • Amount. 90% of the card’s recorded value, minus a 1% processing fee on the cash amount. The offer page shows the net figure you will receive. The processing fee applies to cash only, never to coupons.
  • How it is paid. By PayPal, to the PayPal email saved under Payout Details, or by bank transfer (ACH, or wire for larger amounts or non-U.S. banks) to the account saved there. PayPal payouts are sent automatically when we approve; bank transfers are sent by our staff within a few business days of approval and the reference is recorded on your account.
  • Your details must be right. We send money to the details on your account at the moment you submit your choice. If they are wrong and the payment cannot be recovered, we are not responsible for the loss. We may ask you to confirm details before paying.
  • Requirements. Identity verification (section 10) and confirmation that you are 18 or older are required before any cash is sent.

6. Whatnot coupon option

  • Amount. 100% of the card’s recorded value, with no processing fee.
  • What a coupon is. A fixed-dollar discount code that works only in Trusted Rips’s shows and listings on Whatnot (https://www.whatnot.com/user/trustedrips). It cannot be used on the website, with other sellers, or anywhere else.
  • Splitting. You may split the total into several codes of amounts you choose, subject to the minimum piece size and maximum number of pieces shown on the offer page. The pieces must add up to the full coupon amount.
  • Delivery.After approval our staff create the codes in Whatnot and send them to you by text message or Whatnot message. Codes also appear on your card’s page in your account.
  • No cash value, non-transferable, no expiry. Coupons cannot be redeemed for cash, refunded, or exchanged, are issued to your account only and may not be sold or given to someone else, and do not expire. If Whatnot changes how seller coupons work, we will honor the remaining value in the closest way Whatnot allows.
  • Using a coupon.Each code is used once, at Whatnot checkout in one of our shows, and covers up to its face value on that order. Any unused portion of a single code is lost, which is why splitting is offered. Whatnot’s own checkout rules apply to the order you use it on.

7. Mixing cash and coupons

Where the offer page allows it, you may take part of the card’s value as cash and the rest as coupons. Each part is calculated at its own rate: the cash portion at 90% less the 1% processing fee, and the coupon portion at 100%. The cash portion is subject to the same identity, age, and payout-detail requirements as an all-cash choice. If a mix is not shown on your offer, only the single options listed are available for that card.

8. Ship-it option

You can always decline the buyback and have the card sent to you. There is no fee, no verification is required, and the card goes out with your next Whatnot shipment to the address Whatnot has for you. If we do not have a Whatnot address on file, the offer page will ask for one. Shipping itself is governed by our Shipping & Refund Policy.

9. Your choice is final once approved

You can change your mind only until we approve your request. Once a member of our staff approves it, the choice is final: a card you sold to us becomes our property and returns to our inventory, and a card you chose to ship cannot be converted to a buyback. We cannot reverse a payout, re-issue a coupon as cash, or swap options after approval, even if the card’s market value changes afterward. Approved cards may be resold by us at any price.

If you submitted a choice by mistake, email info@trustedrips.com or message us on Whatnot right away. If the request has not yet been approved, we will cancel it and you can choose again within your original window.

10. Identity verification

Before we send any cash payout, you must complete a one-time identity check through Stripe Identity. You photograph a government-issued ID (driver’s license, ID card, or passport) on Stripe’s secure page. Stripe checks the document and tells us whether it verified, along with your name, the address on the document, and whether the date of birth shows you are 18 or older. Stripe keeps the document images; we never see or store them. We keep only the verification status, your verified name and address, and the over-18 flag. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Verification is done once per account and covers future buybacks. It is required for the cash option and, where indicated on the offer page, for coupons; it is never required to have the card shipped. If verification fails, you can retry, and you can still choose ship-it. We use verification to prevent fraud and to confirm age; we may also compare the verified address with the Whatnot shipping address on your orders.

11. We do not hold cards

Trusted Ripsdoes not offer a vault, storage, or “decide later” option. Every card you win is either bought back under these terms or shipped to you. We will not hold a card at your request beyond the normal shipping cycle, and an expired offer results in shipment, not storage.

12. Taxes

Amounts we pay you under Trusted Buybacks may be taxable income to you. You are responsible for determining and paying any taxes that apply to money or coupons you receive from us, and for keeping your own records. We do not provide tax advice. Where the law requires us to collect information from you or to report payments, we will tell you what is needed before completing a payout.

13. When we may decline or cancel

We may decline to make an offer, reject a request, or cancel an approved request and instead ship the card if:

  • the card was not actually won by you, the account or username is not yours, or the same card is claimed by more than one person;
  • identity verification fails, cannot be completed, or shows you are under 18;
  • the Whatnot order behind the card is refunded, disputed, charged back, or cancelled, or Whatnot asks us to hold it;
  • we recorded the wrong card or value and cannot correct it within the window;
  • we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or a breach of the Terms of Service;
  • a payment provider declines or reverses the payout, in which case we will contact you to arrange another method.

If we cancel after a payout has already been sent, we may recover the amount from you or offset it against future buybacks. If a Whatnot order is refunded after we have bought the card back, the buyback is void and the amount is recoverable.

14. Questions and disputes

Contact info@trustedrips.com or message us on Whatnot with the card name and the email on your account, and we will sort it out with you directly. Disputes about the underlying Whatnot purchase go through Whatnot. Anything we cannot resolve together is handled under section 12 of the Terms of Service (individual arbitration, with a small-claims carve-out and 30-day opt-out).

15. Changes and contact

We may change the percentages, fee, window, coupon rules, or other parts of this program for future offers. Changes never affect an offer that has already been made to you; the terms and amounts printed on your offer are the ones that apply to it. The current version of these terms is always at trustedrips.com/buyback-terms.
